- Virtual Education Manifesto - A Web Book
- This book is on the one-hand a review of technology and how it might be used in educational organizations. On the other hand it is a manifesto for a particular kind of change. This change involves reaching students at home and the workplace and helping teachers cooperate across previous organizational boundaries.
- World Lecture Hall - Index of subjects
- The World Lecture Hall (WLH) contains links to pages created by faculty of the University of Texas and worldwide who are using the Web to deliver class materials. For example, you will find course syllabi, assignments, lecture notes, exams, class calendars, multimedia textbooks, etc.
- Beta Testing Program for WebCT - A Web Tool
- WebCT is a tool that facilitates the creation of sophisticated World Wide Web-based educational environments. It can be used to create entire on-line courses, or to simply publish materials that supplement existing courses.
- Computational Science Education Project (CSEP) - An E-Book
- CSEP is an electronic book for teaching Computational Science and Engineering. The intended audience are students in science and engineering at the advanced undergraduate level and higher. - University Bookstore, University of Iowa
- This allows students to search to view textbooks based on course numbers, but students have to know a specific course's number in order for this to work.
- UCSD Bookstore, University of California - San Diego
- This is one of the most advanced college store sites, and it provides search capabilities, and several online order forms, but I don't believe it allows a student to order by course.
- Titles Bookstore, McMaster University
- This allows students to browse by course, then view the materials they'll need and enter them into a shopping cart, and arrange for mail order delivery, but the process involves many steps. Layout is functional, but graphic design was not a priority.
- Cornell Campus Store, Cornell University
- Of the college stores that allow students to look-up books by course, the type of result this provides is typical: a very plain list of key info, and no links to ordering options.
- UNC Student Stores, Univ. of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
- The design is of high quality, students can browse by course, even view book covers, and complete an entire order online (but shipping options and prices are not described), one of the best, but they are only supporting 8 online courses.
